Important Events Update

Edit: JANUARY 2022

We’re gutted, but safety first.

Currently, the best course of action is to postpone our two Auckland events.
The NZ Cup Tasters Championship and the Meadow Fresh NZ Latte Art Championship were rescheduled for Friday 4 March and Sunday 6 March. We are looking at a later date, (all fingers crossed) in July.

We, our sponsors, hosts, and community only feel comfortable hosting events in a space where our coffee whanau is safe. A massive thanks go to all involved who support us 100%.

All competitors will be contacted individually as we will refund tickets purchased. Tickets will be relaunched when we have a safe date.
All details will be updated across all platforms shortly.

We appreciate your support during these times and are here for you.

Stay safe, Kia Kaha, drink NZ coffee.

UPDATE: OCTOBER 2021. We are feeling the FOMO of World Coffee Events happening in Milan this weekend and we want a world where New Zealand can travel and compete again. We are working hard to rebuild a space where our NZ coffee community is safe and be involved in events.

Currently, the best course of action is to cancel our two Auckland events that were rescheduled for Friday 3 December and Sunday 5 December and write the end of 2021 off as a chance to regroup, refresh, and drink copious amounts of coffee without guilt over the holiday season.

We want to say a massive thanks to our sponsors, hosts, and supporters who are behind us 100%.

Grab a brand new 2022 calendar folks!

Thanks to our awesome Games & Sausages hosts who understand that in hospo, our end-of-year celebrations are often celebrated in January. We have put the drinks on ice and ask you to save the date Thursday 27 January 2022 in WellingtonNelson, and Christchurch. We are still seeking an Auckland venue.

We’re locking in the NZ Cup Tasters Championship 2022 for Friday 4 March at L’affare, Melrose, and the Meadow Fresh NZ Latte Art Championship 2022 for Sunday 6 March at the Sapphire Room, Ponsonby.

In other exciting news, the Meadow Fresh NZ Barista Championship 2022 has relocated dates to 20-21 August giving you more time to devise a routine worthy of an ambassador to represent NZ on the World stage in 2023.

We will be contacting all the Latte Art and Cup Tasters competitors individually to clarify what this means to you. All details will be updated across all platforms shortly.

We thank you for your support during these times. If you have any concerns or questions, please reach out.

As always, stay safe, be kind, drink NZ coffee.

Wed 22 Sept: Let’s do this!

We’re excited to charge ahead again.

The Cup Tasters and Latte Art Championships can only run successfully at level one.

We want to celebrate your skills in person, share a coffee or two together, so what are another few weeks? The events that were due to happen this week on Friday 24 September and Sunday 26 September are now going ahead on Friday 3 December and Sunday 5 December 2021.

Cup Tasters sold out the day we plunged into level 4. Latte Art competitor tickets are still available. Have no regrets for 2021. Enter now> Let’s finish off this year with a coffee community celebration.

Hit up your Auckland coffee friend for accommodation, food recommendations, and re-book those Flexi flights etc, and let’s support local.

Thanks to our sponsors, competitors, hosts, volunteers, and for all those keeping the faith.
It will be worth the wait!

As always, stay safe, be kind, drink coffee.

August 20th 2021

We have made the call.

We believe the best course of action is to postpone our two Auckland events that were due to happen on Friday 24 September and Sunday 26 September.

The Cup Tasters and Latte Art Championships can only run successfully at level one. The health and safety of all remain our highest concern.

We have been in contact with the venue hosts and have discussed dates in late October/early November. Both events will still run over the same weekend. We will confirm new dates once Auckland is back at level three.

In consultation with our invested Sponsors, and with support from the Board, our coffee community remains at the heart of our decisions.

We thank you for your support, during these times and always. If you have any concerns or questions, please reach out.

The good news is that it gives you more time to practice!

As always, stay safe, be kind, drink coffee.
