Meet NZ Barista Guild member Ashlee Baron from Nelson…
What is your earliest coffee related experience? A few weeks after starting my job here at The Coffee Factory.. no lie.
When / why did you first get working in coffee? Heather hooked me up a job at TCF.
What led you to becoming a barista? After being introduced to café work I took a interest to it as apart of being employed at TCF.
What is the best part of your job? Learning from other people who have great skills.
Talk us through a typical work day.. 8am-4pm serving great food/ coffee and customer service in these hours.
What are your roles outside of making coffee? Food prep, dishes, cleaning.. all the things that make our café look great to the public.
What is your favourite brew method and/or coffee origin and why? Nothing beats a V60. Origin of choice defs Ethiopian!
Tulip or rosetta? Rosetta 😉 yet to master one though..
What would be your dream ‘coffee experience’? To visit the countries of origin where the green coffee beans come from.
Do you have a ‘coffee crush’ (person you most respect in the business)? this amazing woman she goes by Emma Webster.. shes simply awesome BITCHES
