Executive Director of NZSCA announced

We are thrilled to announce that Aymon McQuade has been appointed to the Executive Director role with NZSCA.
Well-known to many of our members, Aymon brings industry experience, knowledge and skills to the role.
Aymon commences with us on 13th October and looks forward to meeting new and familiar faces at Symposium on 7th November.
A few words from Aymon:
I am delighted to be appointed the Executive Director of the NZSCA. I have long been a passionate ambassador of specialty coffee. I have enjoyed working in the coffee industry since 1998, beginning as a barista in Wellington, then continuing my career in Australia and the UK, before returning back to NZ.
In 2009, I joined the Bell Tea and Coffee Company as the Cafe Business Manager for the Lower North Island. In recent years I have been heavily involved with many coffee competitions including the Aeropress NZ Brewers Cup , Huhtamaki NZ Barista Champs as both judge and competitor, and the World Barista Champs. I’ve traveled to origin, met some incredibly talented people, and tasted some amazing coffees. Throughout, I have developed warm relationships across the industry both in New Zealand and internationally.
I am excited by the opportunities this new role offers, both personally and for the Association. This appointment represents a new chapter for the NZSCA. I’m looking forward to getting stuck in, meeting all of our members and understanding what drives them and how the association can help them grow. I’m excited about future prospects for the NZSCA, particularly the growth of our professional development programs and the increased engagement of our Barista Guild and Roaster Guild. I’m also looking forward to further growing public and industry awareness, support, and engagement in our coffee events… along many other endeavours.
I look forward to meeting you all in the coming weeks.
Aymon
