Games & Sausages 2022

Thursday 30 June!

The Bangers are back!

We’ve chatted to our amazing hosts, Atomic in Auckland, Sublime in Nelson, Havana in Wellington, Switch Espresso x Opal Coffee in Christchurch, and our wonderful sponsor, Vertical Logistics. We want to put the community back into our industry.

Our hosts have eaten all the sausages in the freezer, drunk all the drinks in the fridge, and played with the games kits while we have been in isolation mode.  Thanks to our awesome sponsors, Vertical Logistics, we’ve replenished supplies and we’re out to celebrate.

All welcome, tickets are now available via the links below:

EDIT 25 January 2022: POSTPONED.

Apologies coffee whanau, it’s the wurst news.

We’ve chatted to our amazing hosts, Atomic in Auckland, Sublime in Nelson, Havana in Wellington, Switch Espresso x Opal Coffee in Christchurch, and our wonderful sponsor, Vertical Logistics. The safety and comfort of our community are paramount.

Our hosts have put the sausages in the freezer, kept the drinks in the fridge, and stored the games kits away for when we have a date. Thanks to all those who RSVP’d, we will notify you again when tickets are available.

Kia Kaha, stay safe, drink NZ coffee.

What’s it all about?

Games and Sausages are traditionally the end-of-year get-togethers for all in the coffee community around a BBQ with a few sausages on the grill and a variety of tasty browns in hand. It’s now a start-of-the-year event, for all the reasons you already know!

It is a family-focused fun community event. All are welcome! At least three games will be played with coffee sack races involving individual and team categories. There will also be the traditional Puck and spoon, some defect coffee throwing plus whatever your space and mind is capable of, and not forgetting, a colouring competition for the mini cafe goers.

Four official events will take place nationwide, in the four regions on Thursday 27 January. Though feel free to throw a sausage on the BBQ and play a few games and join us all in spirit.

Many thanks to our generous sponsor Vertical Logistics who are assisting with a monetary contribution towards the beers and sausages and sorting and sending the games kits. We encourage hosts to seek additional sponsorship from others to assist in making the event happen.

Successful feedback from our community last year has us looking for awesome hosts who want to organize, play the games, and run the event on the evening specified. So, think about your space, think about your crew and community, and nominate a “Games Master”.

We will ticket and promote the events as free events this year as it has been a tough one for all. Previously we have requested a $5 koha towards charity. We emphasize that rsvp tickets are vital to confirming numbers on the night for catering, games, health, safety, and alert levels. All current hospitality precautions required will be followed.
