Are you keen to judge/compete/coach in the Championship for the 2020 season?
The judges’ positions are varied. We need technical, sensory and visual judges for the two Championships. Please note that industry and coffee experience is a prerequisite to judging.
Judging is an excellent way to network with coffee contemporaries, learn technical and sensory skills and be exposed to some extraordinary coffee. It is also a vital step for anyone who has World Barista Championship judging as a professional ambition.
Most of all, it’s a lot of fun!
Crucial to doing well in the Championships is understanding those rules! Pull apart the rules and regulations to gain valuable knowledge and understanding of what the judges are looking for.
These workshops are valuable for trainers, coffee account managers and anyone invested in their coffee career. With the successful introduction of the Latte Art workshop in 2019, we have changed up the workshops to suit both Championships for 2020. Multiple ticket options are available with discounts to Guild members and judges who have judged previously. Please note that completing the workshop does not guarantee your place on the judging panel. Calibration is a requirement in the process too. Judges are chosen after the calibration by the NZSCA judges committee will receive a free Championship t-shirt, ceramic Championship cup and certificate at the end of the event.
All attendees will be sent online testing prior to ensure they have a firm grip on the rules and regulations before attendance.
