We’re excited to announce that Japan’s Hidenori Izaki will be in Auckland after the NZ Coffee Champs. Hosted by the New Zealand Barista Guild, Hide will talk about his love of speciality coffee and his journey to becoming a World Champion. This is a rare chance to taste some amazing coffee which he’ll be showcasing for you, and to ask questions and hear from someone at the top of their game. See Hide’s Finals routine at the World Barista Championship, here.
Hide will be in NZ to help raise the profile and engagement of the NZ Coffee Championships; the Huhtamaki NZ Barista Championship, the AeroPress NZ Brewers Cup, the Meadow Fresh NZ Latte Art Championship and the Huhtamaki NZ Cup Tasters Championship. Hide’s role, after winning his title in Rimini, Italy earlier this year, is an ambassador for speciality coffee. His presence at the Champs will not only lift the profile of the events, but will help inspire and educate the coffee drinking public and indeed our industry’s professionals. Hide will help with workshops, demonstrations, MCing, the Barista Guild stand and more.
When: 6-8pm, Monday 23 March
Where: Sub Rosa, Level 4, PWC Building, 188 Quay St, Auckland Central
Costs: $35 or $25 for members of the NZ Barista/Roaster Guild and NZ Specialty Coffee Assn.
