Prior to joining the SCAA, he was the chief operating officer of Groundwork Coffee Co., a specialty coffee roaster and tea purveyor based in Los Angeles, and before that was president of R2 Consultants, a management consulting firm specializing in the coffee and tea industries. Speaker: Bennett Cross
Blue Bottle Coffee was founded in Oakland, California with the promise of selling coffee within 48 hours of roasting. It now has retail and business operations in the Bay Area, LA, New York, and Tokyo – all honouring the same 48 hour promise. Bennett joined the company straight out of college in 2011 and has held the position of barista, lead barista, quality control and green coffee assistant, and is now the company’s New Store Opening Specialist. We’re looking forward to hearing Bennet’s fascinating insights from his journey working with arguably one of the USA’s most influential speciality coffee companies.
Speaker: Richard Shirtcliffe
Prior to joining Tuatara Brewery as Head Boy (CEO), Richard was an investor & head of Global Marketing at Wellington’s phil&teds, though his route there was about as imprecise as a New York indigent’s path from the bar. Richard sees numerous parallels between the craft beer and specialty coffee industries…we all do. But, Richard has some poignant insights, which he’s looking forward to sharing with us at Re:co, challenging attendees to look at our industry in a different light.
