Roz is a Sales Manager at Beverage Services in Auckland – part of the Santos and Roma family-owned by Aaron and Kym Wyatt.
Roz’s love of coffee and the industry began in 1994 under the guidance of Frances Hollis and Lance Wyatt and an ever so patient young David Burton who taught her his craft. Since then, she has worked for Douwe Egberts, Eden Coffee, Segafredo and now back with the Wyatt family – always in Sales, however, it is not unusual to find her behind the espresso machine or having a “geeky” conversation about a machine or your roaster!

David is the Owner of Jack’s Coffee in Auckland.
David’s passion for the coffee industry of New Zealand has not waned in the 35+ years he has been involved. Companies including Quality Packers, Ciro, Burton Hollis, Columbus, Bell Tea and Coffee and now Jack’s Coffee. Brands include Old Mill, Tass, Burton Hollis, Gravity, Columbus, Burtons, Jeds, Jack’s and others. He has judged at regional, national and international Barista events, recently preferring to hide behind the mic.

Nic has been in the coffee business for over 30 years, working on many aspects of the industry. He was with Cerebos Gregg’s before becoming a Coffee business consultant. His experience covers working with both large and small roasters and is currently on the board of Mt Atkinson Coffee and the management team of Cooks Global foods who have 100 cafes around the world.
He oversaw the opening of 18 Robert Harris cafes and has managed diverse teams covering sales, technical service, marketing and key accounts. Nic has also been on the management team of Mocopan in Melbourne and Atomic Coffee in Auckland.
In 2001 he founded the NZ Barista Competition and ran it for seven years.

Originally born and raised in America, John proudly calls New Zealand home, where his love of coffee began many years ago.  He is the father of three crazy but amazing kids and is blessed to be married to one incredible woman.  John is head of education at Mojo Coffee based in Wellington and has been in specialty coffee for over ten years, working in many roles as a barista, cafe manager, and trainer, both in the United States and New Zealand.  During that time he’s competed in the New Zealand Brewers Cup and had the honour of judging in the New Zealand Barista Championship on multiple occasions.
John has a great love for education and the overall experience for both our customers and coffee professionals.  He is proud to support the next generation of coffee professionals flourishing and pushing the New Zealand industry forward.

Megan has been working with coffee all her working life; she’s managed cafes, judged, coached and competed both here and in the UK. She started roasting coffee 10 years ago, including a coffee that got through to the world barista championship finals. Her current role at Acme & Co was the next natural progression through such an interesting and diverse industry. Megan is the sales and marketing manager at Acme & Co, she is passionate about small business and equality in the New Zealand coffee culture.

Kelly has been involved with coffee ever since her first cafe job serving mochaccinos 20 years ago. After working in numerous cafes over the years, she found herself at Coffee Supreme where her love for hospitality, coffee and excellent customer service all came into one. Twelve years on, her current role as Operations Support Manager has been described as a bridge between finance and operations, although she is more commonly known as the directory for all things Supreme.
Since attending and volunteering at several NZSCA events, she can’t wait to be more involved. Surrounding herself with knowledgeable industry peeps, having the opportunity to learn from them and being able to put her organisational skills and hospitality to use alongside such an inspiring team will be a great experience!

Chris has represented on the Board previously as Treasurer.  He also has 20 years of experience as a roaster.

Now being an Allied Trader, he has an understanding of how the board operates and its values. He is enthusiastic and wants to get other Allied Traders to be a part of the association.
David Huang | Events and Community Chair

David is the Director of Society Coffee in Auckland

He has been in coffee since 2001, starting off as a grass-root cafe runner and working his way up through barista, cafe manager, barista trainer, operation manager/roaster and now a hospitality business owner. He has also been active in the community scene, be it competing/judging in barista competition or eating sausages and slurping coffee in the background of a coffee event. He is currently a New Zealand/World Barista Championship qualified judge.
His true passion is developing coffee with people that share the same goal. He lives by the code of striving for excellence and sharing is caring. David says, “Giving back to the community that nurtured me is to become part of my professional goal. Let us live and breathe coffee, make coffee not war.”

Emma is the Communication and Administration Coordinator for the NZSCA.
After gaining a Degree in Hospitality Management, Emma has worked in Sydney, Dublin, Auckland, London and most recently Wellington again.  She has owned and managed cafes and tech judged in the 2015 and 2016 NZBC’s.  One of her biggest challenges was completing the SCA Level 2 Barista Guild Certification.  One of the greatest joys she gets from the coffee industry is watching young people progress through their coffee journey.
She is super excited to be working with the NZSCA as it unites the industry and allows her to work with previous colleagues, some of her all-time coffee heroes, and an even wider community of passionate amazing people, some of whom she is yet to meet.

Emma is the New Zealand sales manager for AMC Roastery Supply and Owner of Monster Trucks Coffee.
Emma has 20 years experience in New Zealand’s Coffee industry and was New Zealand’s first Barista champion. She holds the title of New Zealand’s highest-ranked female Barista. She represented New Zealand in the year 2002 with a World Barista Championship ranking of 5th and was also a World Barista Championship Judge 2003 through to present and World of Coffee Events Rules and Regulations and National Committee member, a key organiser of the New Zealand Coffee Championships and NZSCA events.
