What is a Latte Art Jam?
Each entrant’s name will be placed in a hat at the event and drawn at random.
Two competitors at a time will face off on one 3 group machine, using either ends steam wands. Coin toss to decide who gets choice of left or right hand steam wand.
In the instance we have 16 entrants, it will be much like a competitive draw at Wimbledon where you play off elimination style to find the two finalists.
Each competitor will produce 1x reg FW and 1x Piccolo. 5min to produce to two pieces of art. Coffees that are to be judged will be placed in a square, once in this square the cannot be removed.
3 Judges will have 3 coins (or whatever). Each judge will place 1 coin at their best judged FW, and 1 coin at their best judged piccolo. The last coin is placed at the latte artist with the best technical ability OR the best overall.
It’s going to be fun, informal and winner takes the glory of a profile piece on the NZSCA website and NZ Barista Guild e-newsletter!
